Obituary of Lois Knickerbocker Lois E. Knickerbocker, age 85, of Addison, NY passed peacefully away on Monday, June 18, 2018 with her family beside her. Lois was born March 9, 1933 in Painted Post to Emanuel and Helen A. (Dempsey) McConnell. She married Sherlon D. Knickerbocker October 18, 1950 and was predeceased by him on February 3, 1990.

Lois was a woman of faith and courage who truly enjoyed life. She was very active and liked to be constantly on the go. She often had a twinkle in her eyes, a smile on her face, and a funny remark on her lips.

Although she said she did not like comedy, Lois could be a real comedian. She always made people laugh and kept them guessing. Some of her favorite expressions were, “if it is free, then it is for me” and “if the car is going somewhere, I’m in it”.

She spent a lot of time as her good friend, Rosie’s “copilot”. They put many miles on Rosie’s silver Cadillac and enjoyed every minute. Whether partaking in a spirited game of Yahtzee or engaging in a lively conversation, Lois truly loved to be surrounded by her family and friends.

Lois will be remembered as a unique, resilient, and loving individual who made life a lot more fun for all who knew her. She is survived by two daughters: Debbie (Daniel) Hill of Addison, NY and Jacqueline Matarese of Painted Post, NY; son: David (Donna) Knickerbocker of Biloxi, MS; brother: Joseph G. McConnell; daughter in law: Deborah Knickerbocker of Caton; grandchildren: D. Michael Hill, Paul L. Hill, David A. (Lindsey) Hill, Thomas J. Hill, Danielle (Clayton) Lovelace, Angelina C.
