Obituary of Harold Hough, Sr. Harold Hough Sr., age 94, of Corning, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. He was born on January 21, 1924 in Coopers Plains, the son of Lester and Ida Mae (Gregory) Hough. He married Betty L. Resue on December 25, 1947 in Campbell.

Harold was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He retired from Ingersoll Rand in 1986 following 39 years of service and he was a veteran of the US Army having served in the North Apennines Campaign and in the Rome Arno Campaign during World War II. Harold received the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.

He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Betty, daughter: Sheila (Terry) Hoopes of Virginia, son, Harold (Debra) Hough Jr. of Hornby, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his siblings, Dorothy, Elnora, Ruth, and Lemon.

It was Harold’s wish that there be no visitation. Burial with full military honors will be held at Coopers Plains Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
