Obituary of Leon Sherwood Leon G. Sherwood, age 72, of Addison, NY passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, June 22, 2018 at home. Leon was born November 4, 1945 in Rathbone, NY to Alton R. and Edith A. (Hibbard) Sherwood. He married Suzanne E. Powers on March 9, 1968.

Leon was a caring and devoted father whose children brought him great joy. He was a talented gardener who loved tending to his flower gardens. Leon’s favorite past time was motorcycles; he spent many summers riding the open road.

He enjoyed spending time with his friends, drinking coffee at local dinners and sharing stories of times past. He was also an avid target shooter and became an excellent marksman. He is survived by his wife: Sue Sherwood; two children: Leanna Sherwood of Woburn, MA, Amy Sherwood of Addison; brother: Fred Sherwood of HI; close friend: Dean Stuart of Addison, along with many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brothers: Laverne, Eugene and Leroy Sherwood. Family and friends are invited to call at Carpenter-Flint Funeral Home, 10 Wall St. Addison, NY on Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 2:00pm-5:00pm. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5:00pm with Rev.

Scott Towner officiating. Memorial donations can be directed to the Addison Volunteer Fire Department.
