Sandra June (Holladay) Wendt, 77, of Whetstone died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at her home. Sandra, daughter of the late Cecil and Ima (Burrows) Holladay was born in Yuma, Arizona on May 6, 1941. Sandra graduated high school and married Kenneth Wendt in 1957 in Hawthorne, NV.

Sandra has resided in Whetstone for the past 37 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, being a team mom for youth sports and volunteering at the elementary school. Her lasting legacy to the community was being a mom to her children, their friends and teammates.

In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Wendt, Sr., a daughter, Wanda Wendt, and her brother, Gary Holladay. She is survived by two sons, Karl Wendt (Denise) and Kenneth Wendt, Jr. (Kristina); a daughter, Kathryn Merrill; nine grandchildren, Noah, Katriona, Jakob, Greyson, Tyler, Morgan, Logan, Demitria, and Kailey. Funeral services for Sandra will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 South Highway, 92 Sierra Vista.

A private burial will be held in Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista. A visiting hour for Sandra will precede her service on Monday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1:30 pm.
