James ‘Jim’ Robert Fraser May 19, 1927- July 23, 2018 James (Jim) Robert Fraser, age 91, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 23, 2018. Jim was born May 19, 1927 in Waterbury, Connecticut, son of the late Irving and Marion (Gray) Fraser. Jim came to Arizona in 2007 to get away from snow and get closer to his daughters.

He joined the Navy during WWII and was very proud of his service. Jim was an active member of the Sierra Vista DAV. He was an avid family man and loved by all.

Those he met would always comment on his kindness and caring. He was very much a people person and never met a stranger. We fondly called him our ‘social butterfly’.

Jim was a painter by trade and when the family deemed him ‘too old’ to be on a ladder his new passion was building model ships (navy ships) which he would proudly display at any place that was willing to put them out for viewing. Jim is survived by his daughters: Mary (Fraser) Renn and her husband Joe, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Sharon (Fraser) Graeber, of Sierra Vista, Arizona, Julie (Fraser) Skidmore and her husband Don of Helena, Montana, Faith (Fraser) Forsythe and her husband Brian, of Portland, Oregon, and Denise Moore, of Florida; along with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
