Obituary for Sharon R. Pollard Sharon R. Pollard Sharon Rae (Wills) Pollard began her next adventure on May 26th, 2018. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 20, 1935 in Norway, Michigan to Richard and Kathryn (Rena) Wills.

Sharon taught elementary school for 25 years in the Breitung Township School District, touching hearts and shaping hundreds of children’s lives. She inspired her students to learn by sharing her passion for exploring life’s adventures. She was the warmest, kindest mother and grandmother who evolved with her kids and grandkids as they grew.

She loved them unconditionally. Her passion for books is impossible to put into words. She was constantly reading and learning and loved every minute of sharing that passion with her grandchildren.

Not a month would go by when she didn’t ship off a new book to someone. Sharon deeply appreciated the beauty of this earth. She loved the quiet beauty of camp, feeding and watching the birds and deer, and sitting around their camp fire.

Her love for music was ever present, including listening at home, watching musicals, and attending concerts and theater productions with her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 66 years Warren (Joe) Pollard, daughters Linda (Deb) Pollard-Baker of Hersey, MI, Peggy (Stephan) Miller of Oswego, IL, Sharyl Pollard of Lakeland, FL, and son Todd (Marilyn) Pollard of O’Fallon, IL, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Ellen Waligora, and her grandson Justin Miller.

Her bright, shining smile will be missed greatly by her family and all who loved her. Family graveside services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sharon’s memory to Jimmy Valvano’s VFoundation, a cancer research foundation for children and adults.
