Stella Baker, 86, of Fuller St., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 1:30 P.M. at New Jersey AME Zion Church with family visitation a half hour before the service. Burial will follow at New Jersey AME Zion Church Cemetery.

Public viewing will be Monday from 1-8pm at Roberts Funeral Service. She was born in Davidson County to Marshall A. Roberts and Roxie Ella Williams Roberts on August 11, 1932. She was a member of Lexington Christian Fellowship Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Baker; four brothers: Albert Roberts, James Roberts, Rensy Roberts and Leroy Roberts and a sister, Fannie Jordan. Stella is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth Spells of Salisbury, Iris Cindy (Elijah) McLean of Lexington and Crystal L. Baker of Fla. ; a grandson, Evan (Tracey) Woods; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah E. Woods and Stella Woods; a sister, Julia Boler of Winston-Salem; a brother-in-law, William Henry Baker of Lexington; three sisters-in-law: Edith Tooley, Sadie M. Baker of Lexington, NC and Kitty Riley; a goddaughter, Valerie Fuller of Lexington and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
