Lady Delores Jones Shields November 03, 1960 – May 24, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Lady Delores Jones Shields, daughter of Ola Mae Jones and the late David Jones, Jr., was born on November 3, 1960 in Raeford, NC. She was welcomed into the eternal and loving arms of Jesus on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center. She attended Hoke County Public Schools and graduated from Hoke County High School in 1979.

She matriculated at Sandhills Community College, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Guilford Technical Community College. She received her Associates degree in Nursing and held several positions throughout her more than thirty year nursing career. Delores married Randy Shields of Winston Salem, NC on September 25, 1982.

To this union two children were born, Randall Lamar and Brandy Nicole. Delores was baptized in Jesus name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at the early age of 15. She served on the several boards and was very active in her local church, where she developed a passion for serving in the Usher ministry.

Lady Shields served faithfully as the Vice President of the COGIJCA National Usher Board and Women United. She was preceded in death by her father David Jones, Jr. and brother, Michael Jones. She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Presiding Bishop R. L. Shields; one son, Randall Shields; one daughter, Brandy Shields; twin granddaughters Tatiana and Tamera Rowland, all of Winston Salem; mother Ola Mae Jones, of Raeford; five brothers James Wesley and Curtis Jones of Fayetteville, NC, David Allen (Janet) Jones, Terry (Loretta) Jones and Ervin Dewayne (Barbara) Jones of Raeford; one sister, DeBorah (Sherman) Baker; in-laws Eugene (Luberta) Shields, Kay Sackey, Bishop W. (Patricia) Shields Jr., Gail (Kelvin) Cash, Timothy (Phyllis) Shields, Terry Shields, and Kenneth (Kimberly) Shields; one uncle, Henry L. Jones and an aunt Almita Hollingsworth; four god-children, Tempest Baker, Eugene Shields, III, Jamorri Dyer, and Hydeia Jones; special nephew, Kajuan Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The homegoing celebration will be held at 2:00pm (family visitation), Friday, May 31, 2019 at Temple Holiness Apostolic Church 2218 NE 22nd St. Winston Salem, NC 27105 and culminating Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 12 noon at Conference B Headquarters, 10225 Fayetteville Rd. Raeford, NC 28376. Internment will be at New Pilgrim Church Cemetery, Raeford, NC.

Hooper Funeral Home 1415 E. 14th St Winston-Salem, NC 27105 is in charge. The family will receive friends at 2207 Bowen Blvd. Winston Salem, NC 27105.
