Mr. Stevan Rodney Davis, 72 of Mentone, Al. passed away Tuesday at his residence. Mr. Davis was born in Rome, Ga.

Nov. 26, 1946 son of the late Perran Louis and Kareen Averett Davis. He was a graduate of East Rome High School and Berry College.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served as a Journalist. After his military service, he was with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra with the Public Relations Dept. He was a policeman with the City of Rome, Ga.

for 10 years. Having moved to Mentone he became very involved with St. Joseph’s on the Mountain Episcopal Church, where he served in many capacities. Mr. Davis was an avid fan of SEC College Football, especially the Georgia Bulldogs.

He loved animals and devoted much of his time rescuing and providing homes for them. He is survived by his wife,Rebecca Rish Davis. Children; Sean Davis, Diana Davis, Christian (Caroline) Davis, Kenneth Davis, Stephanie Davis, Jimbo (Kendall) Mann and Chip Mann.

7 Grandchildren and 1 Great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Davis. The family asked for NO Flowers, Memorials to be made to St. Joseph’s on the Mountain Episcopal Church.
