Obituary for Steven Diaz Steven Diaz, passed away suddenly at Saint Luke’s Hospital on September 15, 2018 at the age of 39. He was born to Anibal and Vanessa Diaz on December 2, 1978 in Cold Spring, New York where he was raised by his mother and stepfather Richie Trinidad, who played an important role in his life. He was a lifelong resident of Beacon NY and a graduate of Beacon High School in 1998.
He played for the Beacon Bulldogs Varsity Baseball team where they won the Class B State Championship. On September 24, 2004, the time came when Steven married his childhood sweetheart and as he would say “his soul mate” Jessica Marie Diaz at the Villa Borghese in Wappingers Falls, NY. He was a loving husband as well as the father to three children.
They are his first born son Steven Joseph Diaz Jr, and his other two children Angelina Naomi Diaz as well as his baby boy Jovani Manuel Diaz that he shared with his wife Jessica. In 2005, they decided to move across the river and purchase their first home as the place to raise their children. In addition to his biological brother Tino Diaz who he valued deeply and looked up to, Steven had a bond like no other with Eddie Irizarry who was a brother from another mother who was the first of his brothers of the ones he called his “BROTHERS FOR LIFE”.
Steven was from such a large family including his “Tompkins Family”. He was known as a loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, brother-in-law, uncle and grandfather to his only grandchild Aubrey Diaz. Last but not least, he was a loving friend.
Steven worked for IBM/GlobalFoundries in East Fishkill as an Equipment Maintenance Technician and dedicated over 18 years between both companies. He was known as a committed and hard worker as well as an important part of his team. The interests that Steven most enjoyed were his love for fishing, hunting, and working out at the gym.
During moments of relaxation he loved to explore new cigars and craft beers. He was also known as a diehard sports fan of the Yankees, Niners, and Chicago Bulls along with his yearly fantasy football league. Steven also enjoyed getting together and having parties.
He was the life of any party anywhere he went which included dancing and karaoke. All knew that his wife Jessica was the karaoke queen that would get the party started, but once he let loose everyone loved it when Steven joined in. No one could forget his contagious laugh!
Steven was a very humble guy, but don’t be fooled as he always kept it real. He was tough on the outside, but soft hearted on the inside. He was the one who always had your back no matter what.
He lived his life to the fullest and that’s what he would want of you all. As you reflect on these memories, leave without sorrow and remember that life is short. Therefore, “Break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and NEVER REGRET anything that makes you smile”.
