Sylvia B. Bard, 89, died on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of Simon W. Bard. The couple was married on January 11, 1952, celebrating 67 years of marriage.

Sylvia was born in York on October 17, 1929, daughter of the late Ivan B. and Violet J. (Gladfelter) King. Sylvia was a homemaker. She graduated from Wrightsville High School, Class of 1948.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in York. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Brenda Schmidt and her husband, Fred of Carson City, NV; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Craig William Bard; five brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. Arrangements by the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
