Obituary for Terrance “Bo” Booker CLEVELAND, VIRGINIA – Terrance “Bo” Booker, 69, died Monday, July 16, 2018 at Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon, Virginia. He was born in Dante, Virginia, son of the late Jake and Edith Hicks Booker. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Wade Bryon Booker and Jake Eddie Booker III.
He graduated from Castlewood High School in 1966, and played football at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina. He was a disabled coal miner. He took photos for the U.M.W.A.
during the coal strike and was also a photo contributor for the Wall Street Journal during the coal strike. He is survived by his wife, Lillie Booker; two daughters, Heather Wicks and husband, Roger of Belfast, Virginia and Sophie Alsup of Cleveland, Virginia; one son, Bruce Booker and wife, Nina of Washington State; one step-son, Eric Alsup of Lebanon, Virginia; one step-daughter, Brandi Alsup of Cleveland, Virginia; one sister, Linda Martin and husband, Dr. Phillip of Roanoke, Virginia; four grandchildren, Trinity Hackney and husband, Anthony, Lela Booker, Jake Booker and John Booker; one great grandchild, Ezekiel Howard. Funeral Services for Terrance “Bo” Booker will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev.
Leonard Ferguson and Dr. Phillip Martin officiating. Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 19, 2018 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. U. M. W. A.will be in charge of graveside rites.
Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
