Obituary for Mary Alice Counts CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Mary Alice Counts, 56, died Friday, October 12, 2018 at her home. She was born in Dante, Virginia; daughter of the late Fred Greear Austin. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey “Davey” Austin.
She was a member of Morning Star Full Gospel Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Jeff Counts; one daughter, Nicole White and husband, Cody of Castlewood, Virginia; mother, Peggy Austin of Castlewood, Virginia; one brother, Danny “Hub” Austin and wife, Tina of St. Paul, Virginia; father and mother-in-law, Doyal and Ann Phillips of Dante, Virginia; brother-in-law, Tim Counts of Castlewood, Virginia; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mary Alice Counts will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev.
Woody Scott, Rev. Marvin Cain and Rev. Travis Lambert officiating.
Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 in Phillips-Kiser Cemetery, Dante, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:15 a.m. Monday. Pallbearers will be Rob Austin, Cody White, Doug Austin, Mike Shell, David Casteel and Tony Mullins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Counts, Jimbo Stidham and members of Morning Star Church family. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. October 14, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for medical expenses.
