Obituary for Danny Joe Bush CASTLEWOOD, VIRGINIA – Danny Joe Bush, 78, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. He was born in Scott County, Virginia; son of the late Oferal and Stella Townes Bush. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Bush, Sr., David Bush, Clyde Bush, Oferal Bush, Jr. and his sister, Shelley Jean Sturgill.
Throughout his life, Danny worked in the garment manufacturing business where he was co-owner of St. Paul Sportswear Company. He was a member of the Brick Baptist Church, as well as being a member of the Castlewood Lions Club and the Castlewood Masonic Lodge #231 A.F & A.M.. Over the years, Danny served on the Castlewood Town Council and on the board of various entities, including the Russell County Water and Sewage Authority, Russell County Planning Commission, Russell County Vocational Schools and the William A. Davis Clinic.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty six years, Mary Kelly Bush; one son, Michael Bush and wife, Tiffany; two step grandchildren, Ava Deckard and Alen Deckard; one brother, Logan Bush and wife, Terri; one sister, Nadine Kennedy; mother-in-law, Wilma Blakeley; two brothers-in-law, Harry Kelly and wife, Juanita and Fred Sturgill; two sisters-in-law, Helen Bush and Brenda Bush; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. Funeral Services for Danny Joe Bush will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 22, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Jim Anderson, Rev.
Mike Moore and Rev. Lee Kidd officiating. A Masonic Service will be conducted at 1:45 p.m. Monday by the Castlewood Masonic Lodge #231 A.F. & A.M. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Love Mausoleum – Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Fred Bush Sr., Tony Bush, Eddie Bush, Jason Bush, Jason Kelly, Preston Bradley, Jerry Jessee and Jay Adkisson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Steve Banner, Randy Williams and Fred Meade. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia.
