She grew up on the Korkue family farm in Pompey, attended both Convent School and Fabius Pompey High School. She worked at Chappels where she met Ken Whiting who worked there also.

She was later asked to be a model appearing in local newspapers. After Ken returned from the Korean War he proposed and they were married. Together they started Ken Whiting construction where Theresa learned to do the books and was hands on with all aspects of the job from going to jobsites, to doing interior design consulting.

After her husband’s passing she continued working with her son Ken Jr. until the day she died. She always wanted the job done right. Her love of animals especially her many dogs was well known, donating to the SPCA but for her family it was “her critters” that came to visit that they will remember most, the deer, squirrels, and birds coming around knowing she was there for them.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ken and her dogs, Lucky, Peanut, Rex, Pebbles, Rocky and Pockets. She is survived by her children, Ken Jr., Cindy, Patty (Andy) and her grandchildren. Services: 9:15 AM Wednesday March 13 at the Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Tpk.

with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10 AM at The Church of St. Michael & St. Peter. Interment Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:30 PM at the funeral home.

She donated to many charities in her life alongside her husband and then her son, but we ask you donate to the SPCA in Theresa’s name. She was always there for her family, friends and all who met her. Her wisdom, insight, friendship, passion, and love of life is what we will miss, her smile, spirit of giving and putting others first is what we will always remember.
