Obituary for Velma Ruth Hurd Velma “Ruth” Hurd, age 92, of Mooresburg, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018, at the Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Lon T. and Ora M. Trent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hurd; father and mother-in-law, Rev.

Charlie and Bess Hurd; and a special brother-in-law, Donald Blaine Trent. She was member of Stoney Gap Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her loving daughter, Loretta Perry and husband Justin; grandson, Taylor Perry; granddaughter, Bethany Perry; sister, Renelda Trent; and special nieces and nephews, Donna Mills and husband Russell, and Jeanie Ramsey and husband Ronald.

Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 14, 2018, at Stoney Gap Missionary Baptist Church in Sneedville. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Howard Johnson and Rev.

Alonzo Collins officiating. The graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday at 1:00 pm in Trent Cemetery on Cope Road. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
