VIRGINIA’s Obituary Virginia Buckles Curry, 102, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully Monday, January 21, 2019, at Wesley Manor Retirement Community in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she joined on Easter Sunday in 1924 and belonged to the Lucy Moss Circle. Virginia was a founding member of the Henderson County Garden Club.

For many years she had worked at Bohn’s She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Curry, who died in 1986; her parents, Frank T. and Nettie Ivory Alexander Buckles; and her brother, Kenneth Dean Buckles. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Hammond of Evansville, Indiana; two sons, Ken Curry and his wife, Becki, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Lex Curry and his wife, Paula, of Fishers, Indiana; five grandchildren, Carrie Smither, Aimee Sigler, Michael Curry (Lynsey), David Curry (Amanda), and Alex Curry (Maggie); seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Services will be at noon Friday at First United Methodist Church.

The Reverend Gary A. Chapman and the Reverend James Wofford will officiate. Private family burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church or Wesley Manor Retirement Community, 5012 East Manslick Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40219. Pallbearers will be Michael Curry, David Curry, Alex Curry, Eric Larson, Lance Dosch, Dave Hammond, Connor Hammond, and Randy Tapp. Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
