The Red Cross, KY. native, was born July 7, 1932, raised in Bowling Green, son of the late John Quincy and Thelma Lynn Richey. He was a proud marine who served in the Korean War.

He was a welder at Modern Welding Co. before opening his own business, Service Welding. He loved fishing, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Richey and Johnny Richey; sisters, Judell Richey Farmer and Ruby Pearline Richey; sons: Mark H. Richey and Michael W. Richey; grandchildren, Matthew S. Richey and Diana Rigopoulos; and great grandson, Chance Gregory.

He is survived by daughters: Wanda Rigopoulos (George) of London, Ontario, Canada, Judy Gregory (Michael) of Roundhill, KY and Cynthia Bareis (Norman) of Colts Neck, N.J.; a son, James H. Richey of Anna, KY; a step son, Joe Kirby; sisters: Ella Miller (Harold) of Richardsville,and Martha Russell of Bowling Green; and a brother, James Henry Richey (Beth) of Tennessee Colony, Texas. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren: Maria Rigopoulos (Majovie Bland), Elena Rigopoulos, Angela Samuel (Timi), Lisa Doolin (Mathew Miller), Tina Doolin (Jose Gomez), Andrew Doolin, William, Eric, Shane and Adam Gregory, Gerri Bareis (Tommy Salmorin), Jacquelyn Walker (Sebastian), James Randall Richey, Jennifer Richey (Dustin Lane), Cassie Graves (Josh), Kendra Hurt (Haley Kawai), Victoria Richey, Michael Brian Richey, and Mark Allen Richey. Other survivors include 30 great grandchildren, Savannah, Willow, Magnolia, Coby, Brent, Morgan, Shelby, Samantha, Abby, Elizabeth, Michael Jr., Blake, Gianna, Everton, Theo, Georgia, Anthony, Ayomide, Dion, Majovie, Mateo, Reid, Harrison, Joaquin, Joe, Daniel, Keaton, Christian, Maislyn and Creedence; as well as many nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

Funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday at Hardy & Son Funeral Home, Bowling Green Chapel with visitation 2-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
