Obituary for Mr. Walter C. Boadway Walter Boadway, 84, of the Number 5 Road, Chateaugay died Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family and aided by Hospice of the North Country. Born on July 18, 1933 in Ellenburg, NY, he was the son of Thomas William and Armeda (LaBombard) Boadway. He was married to Marjorie Margaret Tavernia on Sept.

29, 1956 in St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay, officiated by Rev. Daniel T. Keefe. He worked at John Deere in Malone, NY for many years and was employed as a farmer by many local farms and by McCann Farm Supplies for 12 years.

He attended night school studying computers to further his education. He was an avid reader and self-educator. He later purchased a Boumatic franchise, which installed computerized milking systems in the North Country.

He loved music, collected many instruments, and in his pastime enjoyed painting. He was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church and Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 61 years; 6 children, Cynthia Boadway Zacks, Daniel Boadway, Karen Boadway Deyulio, Michael and Julie Boadway, Susan Boadway, Kathy and Brian Mazure; 6 grandchildren, Tiffany and Paul Olea, Nicole Deyulio, Zachary Boadway, Sydney Boadway, Alexa Mazure and Login Mazure; a great-granddaughter on the way with Tiffany and Paul Olea; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd Boadway, Frank and Carol Boadway, Richard and Lynn Boadway, Aldon Boadway; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce Hough, Eleanor and Charles Clynes, Monica and Jerry Tarrant, Sharon and Malcolm Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Timothy Boadway on January 15, 2009 and two sisters, Patricia DuBrey and Della Charette. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31 in St. Patrick’s Church with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating.

Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. A reception will be held at the American Legion, Chateaugay. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
