William Miles Casey, 81, of Swanton, MD, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at his home. Born November 20, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Andrew and Catherine (Miles) Casey. William retired with over thirty years of service as the Battalion Chief for the Washington D.C. Fire Department.

He served in the United States Army. William traveled all fifty states and enjoyed camping, boating, and spending time with his family. He was an avid Steelers fan.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Clark) Casey; two daughters, Kelly R. Birckhead and husband, Chip, Mt. Airy, MD; Erin K. Fields and husband, James, Rock Hill S.C.; five grandchildren, Peyton, Delia, Chloe, Brooke and Jimmy. At William’s request, he will be cremated.

A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, 21550, with Brother Art Wolf officiating.
