Wilma Virginia Wakefield, 88, of Kingwood, WV and formerly of Friendsville, MD, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Hopemont Hospital, Terra Alta, WV. Born November 29, 1929, in Accident, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Maude (Lee) Lohr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Junior Wakefield; seven brothers, George, Homer, Alvie, Keith, Alexander, Pete and Woodrow Wakefield; two sisters, Ethel Seibert and Freda VanScheetz.

Mrs. Wakefield was a homemaker and a member of the Sand Spring Church of God, WCSC of Sand Spring and WOW Camp 45. She is survived by one son, Larry (Sandi) Wakefield, Friendsville; two daughters, Virginia (Jim) Wood, WI and Tracy (companion, Rob) Gregory, Terra Alta; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave.

, Friendsville, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Sand Spring Church of God on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dana Umbel officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www. newmanfuneralhomes.com.
