Thomas Richard Whiteman, 70, of Accident, MD, died Friday, June 29, 2018, at his home. Born December 8, 1947, in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of the late James Francis and Viola M. (Getson) Whiteman. He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Margarita Ann and Martha Dawn Whiteman and one brother, James Francis Whiteman, II.

Mr. Whiteman was a manager for Bausch & Lomb, retiring after 45 years of service. He is survived by four daughters, Candy Giblin, Dagsboro, DE; Jamie Strawser, Dallas, TX; Michelle Sherbin, McHenry and Cheri Whiteman, Accident; one brother, Jacob Whiteman, Des Moines, IA; one sister, Jean Lynn Durst, Lonaconing; nine grandchildren, Courtney, Megan, Makayla, Mackenzie, Kreed, Beck, Jordan, Jetta and Jalynn and one great-grandson, Kase. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m. with Pastor Pascal Crites officiating.

Cremation will follow the services. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family to help defray funeral expenses. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
