Nancy Pearson Monn , August 09, 1925 — September 07, 2018

Nancy Pearson Monn, 93, of Salisbury, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD, with her daughter by her side. Born August 9, 1925, in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late William E. & Isabel (Reiker) Pearson. Mrs. Monn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Kamp Monn; who was the love of her life.

They were married on June 14, 1948. Mrs. Monn was co-owner of Monn Studio, Meyersdale, PA, a member of Professional Photographers Association of Pennsylvania and previously worked at Celanese Corporation. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ being active in the church choir, Consistory, Sunday School teacher as well as the Primary Department Superintendent.

Mrs. Monn was also a lifetime member of the Salisbury American Legion Auxiliary. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. Surviving is her daughter, Kristina Monn Whitehead; Berryville, VA; three grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica) Whitehead, Finzel, MD, Sarah Whitehead, Berryville, Peggy Byrd (partner, Shanna Mathews), Garner, NC; five great-grandchildren, Jayden Lei, Keyton Lewis, D’Andre Micah, Zoe Jayne, Mercy Elizabeth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury, PA, on Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Services will be conducted in St. John’s United Church of Christ on Friday, September 14, 2018, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dr. Alexa Smith officiating.

The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to St. John’s United Church of Christ.
