Virgil Clay Beachy, 83, of Grantsville, MD, died Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg, MD, surrounded by his family. Born November 22, 1934, in Grantsville, he was the son of the late Sherman and Clara (Miller) Beachy. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Blaine, Cecil and Sherman Beachy, Jr. and four sisters, Arlene Leedy, Margaret Peck, Helen Durst and JoAnn Beachy.

Virgil was a detailer for the former Billy Bender Chevrolet, Grantsville, retiring in 2000. He was a member a member of Hostetler Church of the Brethren, Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department and Casselman Valley Sportsmen’s Club. Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Mary Belinda (Shultz) Beachy, whom he married on September 25, 1959; two sons, Keith Alan (Terry) Beachy and Kenneth Clay Beachy, all of Grantsville; two grandchildren, Andrew Alan Beachy and Sandra Lynn (Julian) Coluzzi and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Beachy, Grantsville.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, from 9-11 a.m. Services and interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hostetler Church of the Brethren, 2344 Sand Spring Rd. , Meyersdale, PA 15552, or Grantsville Volunteer Fire Dept.
