Gladys Mae (Coddington) Savage, 102, of McHenry, MD, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD, where she has resided for 14 years. Born May 29, 1916, near Friendsville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Vesta (Beeghly) Coddington. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Parley M. Savage; two sons, Dale Eugene and Parley Deane Savage; one daughter, Betty Lorraine DeWitt; two grandchildren, L. David Savage and Darla Diane DeWitt; one great-granddaughter, Bethany Savage; six brothers, Guy, Mason, Wade, Leo, Raymond and Donald Coddington; and four sisters, Thelma Coddington, Evelyn Georg, Helen Keller and Betty Rittenhouse.

Gladys was a member of the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren and a homemaker who enjoyed baking bread for the church and community. She is survived by one sister, Jean Mettscher, Estero, FL; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 26722 Garrett Hwy.

, Accident (McHenry), MD, on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at the Oak Grove Church of the Brethren with Pastor Scott Rush officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery.
