Esther Kathryn Stanton, 99, of Grantsville, MD, died Friday, July 6, 2018, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born June 26, 1919, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Charles & Sallie Catherine (Butler) Walls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin S. Stanton; four brothers, Robert, Herbert, Lewis and Walter Walls and three sisters, Cora Wiley, Ruth Gindlesperger and JoAnn Bowser.

Mrs. Stanton was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Community Church, Woodmen of the World, Camp 41, Mars Hill Homemakers Club and Jennings WSCS. Survivors include two sons, Richard F. (Miriam) Stanton, Owings Mills, MD; Ronald L. (Patricia) Stanton, Odenton, MD; one daughter, Linda K. Upole, Grantsville; four grandchildren, Marcie Beiler, Rhonda Oates, Don Stephen Upole and Lori Wilt; six great-grandchildren, Randi Alvarado, Kimberly Carr, Blair Upole, Blake Upole, Brett Oates and Piper Wilt and three great-great-grandchildren, Codyn Alvarado, Deacon Alvarado and Kruz Carr.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville on Sunday 2- 4 & 7-9 pm. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, July 9, 2018, at 11:00 am with Pastor Matt Widder officiating. Interment will be in Grantsville Cemetery.
