Adeline Irwin Newsom July 29, 1966 – January 19, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Adeline Newsom, age 52, the former Adeline Irwin, who passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at her residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The Rev.

James Craft, pastor of Calvary Baptist in Lafayette, will officiate at the services. Adeline was born on July 29, 1966 in Lafayette to Thomas and Shirley Irwin. She was a devoted Christian and spent her life loving the Lord.

She served in the United States Navy for three years. After serving she got a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and worked as a dialysis nurse until she became ill. She was a lifelong Saints and LSU fan and always had the TV on football on Sundays.

She loved the beach and could spend all day sitting by the shore, watching the waves roll in. Survivors include her father, Tommy W. Irwin of Lafayette; two brothers, Scott Irwin and wife, Angel, of Lafayette, Daniel Irwin and wife, Carolyn, of Lafayette; one son, Cody Newsom; and one daughter, Kaitlyn Newsom. She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Irwin; and one brother, Todd Irwin.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Memorial contributions in the name of Adeline Newsom may be made to The Pink Fund, P.O. Box 603, Bloomfield Hills, MI 48303. Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave.
