Obituary for Adolf E. Federer Adolf E. Federer, 93 of Hurricane passed away Wednesday November 21, 2018. Born February 7, 1925 in Arbon, Switzerland, Adolf was a son of the late Adolf and Frieda Federer. He was also preceded in death by brother, Ernest and sister, Margaret.

Adolf served as a Captain in the Swiss Army and received a Master’s Degree from the Institute of Technology in Zurich. He received his second Master’s Degree and PhD in food technology from the University of Wisconsin. Adolf worked for Broughton Dairy as a food chemist and retired from the company as Vice President.

In addition, Adolf was a member of Teays Valley Presbyterian Church, Scott Depot. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather led an incredible life, through travel, his family and career. He was never a boastful man, but always kind, caring and loving to his family, friends and colleagues.

He will be greatly missed. Adolf is survived by his loving wife, Carole Federer; daughters, Lesley Beard (Jeff) of Columbus, GA and Julie L. Spence of Poca; grandchildren, Hayden, Evan, Sarah; step-grandchildren, Sammy, Heather, Jennifer, Sean, Michael and Lauren; and sister, Ruth Schwab. A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, November 26, 2018 at Valley View Memorial Park, Mausoleum Chapel.
