Albine Bobby “Bob” Syrews, 84, of Weston passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born in Kingwood on November 18, 1933 a son of the late Albine and Eva Virginia Lewis Syruws. He was greeted in Heaven by his wife of nearly 50 years, Joan Marie Garlitz Syrews.

Bob is survived by ten children: Robert Syrews and wife, Penny, Eileen Johns and husband, Wayne, all of Berlin, Timothy Syrews and wife, Bridgett, Marjorie Messenger and husband, Hoy, of GA, Marilyn Syrews of Weston, Terry Syrews and wife, Carol, Kenny Syrews and wife, Donna, Tom Syrews and wife, Delilah, Dave Syrews and wife, Trina, all of Berlin, and Teresa McCormick and husband, Bill, of Jane Lew; 28 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and four siblings: Linda Thompson, and Geraldine Haskiell and husband, Bill, both of Kingwood, Joan DeLabio and husband, Joey, and James Syruws and wife, Nancy, both of Niagra Falls, NY. In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by first wife, Patricia Agnes Garlitz Syrews; infant daughter, Loriann Syrews; and three siblings: William Syruws, Sue Nair, and Roger Syruws. Bob first went to work in a Preston County coal mine before moving to Niagara Falls, New York to pursue other things.

He worked in sales and other things then settled with Moore’s Business Form. When the company offered Bob a promotion to foreman and the opportunity to return to WV, he was more than happy to accept. During his 25-year career with Moore’s in Buckhannon, WV, he was also raising his family and working his farm.

He loved working the family farm and sharing his bounty. His children can remember Bob raising more than 10 vegetable gardens a summer and his neighbors recall him delivering vegetables from a basket on his 4-wheeler. After retirement, Bob continued to farm and became a vendor at local flea markets.

It was a good fit for him because he was such a people person. He loved the fellowship with other vendors and customers that he met there. Bob was a hard-working, kind and big-hearted person who had many friends and was well liked through out his community.

He will be greatly missed by his family and those friends. His family has honored Bob’s wishes for cremation and no service. The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd.
