Obituary for Bonnie May Henderson Bonnie May Henderson, age 96, of Ann Arbor, Michigan passed away on June 30, 2018. Bonnie was born on June 3, 1922 in Inola, Oklahoma to parents James Harvey and Susie (Van Vliet) Adams. After graduating high school in Inola, Bonnie enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served from 1943 until 1945.

During her time in the Marine Corps, she met fellow marine Harley William “Bill” Henderson and they were married in 1945 wearing their Marine Corps uniforms. Bill and Bonnie moved to Royal Oak, Michigan and started a family. Together they had three children, William, Beth, and Jo Ann.

After Bill passed away in 1964, Bonnie moved back to Inola, Oklahoma to be closer to her family. She remained there until 2010, when she moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to be with her daughter, Beth. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents James and Susie Adams; her husband Harley William “Bill” Henderson; her daughter Jo Ann Henderson; her son William Raymond Henderson; and her siblings Luther (Mary Lou) Adams, Mary (Doward) Adams-Louderback, Clifford (Pauline) Adams, Ralph Adams, Virgil (Florence) Adams, James Adams, and Edith (Joe) Adams-McFarland.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Henderson-Goebel; her grandchildren Charles Goebel Jr., Richard E. Goebel, Shannon McCarren, and Sam Henderson; her great-grandchildren Wyatt McCarren and Ethen McCarren. Private cremation arrangements took place in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Interment will be held at Highland Cemetery in Inola, Oklahoma at a later date.
