Bryan’s Obituary Bryan G. Kyle “Big Daddy” SOUTH PORTLAND – The South Portland community lost a great man this past Wednesday, January 9th. Bryan G. Kyle, age 68 unexpectedly passed away at Maine Medical Center following surgery. Bryan was born to Dorothy Junkins Kyle and George James Kyle in Portland, Maine, on August 21,1950.

He graduated from South Portland High School, class of 1969. Bryan was always an excellent provider for his family, working a variety of jobs in the printing and trucking industry. He was also proprietor of Kyles Market and Big Daddy’s Pub.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart & loving wife, Sharleen. They were to celebrate their 50th year of marriage this upcoming October. Bryan was a devoted and loving husband and father.

He is also survived by his two children, Bryan, Jr. and wife Jennifer of Old Orchard Beach, and Jennifer Thompson and husband David of South Portland; two special granddaughters, Brianna and Kaylie of South Portland. Growing up near Willard Beach sparked a lifelong love of the ocean. Going out on the boat with Sharleen, fishing with friends, and eating fresh steamers were just a few of his favorite pastimes.

Bryan always found joy in helping, sharing & giving of his talents to others. He had a passion for creative woodworking, making many items for family and friends; his birdhouses were one of a kind. Some of his favorite times were spent driving his golf cart around while listening to Elvis, Irish, and Rock & Roll music or playing cards with his friends at Range Pond Camp Ground.

Bryan will be lovingly remembered by all those who knew him … he had zest for living a happy and good life! In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Bryan’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
