Catherine “Katie” Kostoff age 91, of Collinsville, IL, formerly of Granite City, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, IL. Katie was born on November 19, 1926 in St. Louis, MO a daughter of the late Angelo Valenti and Antoinette Marie (Garofallo) Valenti. Katie married Nicholas V. Kostoff, the love of her life at the 1st Presbyterian Church in Granite City, IL.

Nicholas passed away on November 3, 2011. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City, IL. Katie was also a member and past treasurer of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary in Granite City, IL.

She enjoyed playing bingo and even called bingo numbers at McDonalds in Granite City, IL for the senior citizens. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Katie loved life, she loved to laugh, but most of all she loved her family.

She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents and husband, Katie was preceded in death by sister, Mary Power; brothers, Nick Valenti, Jerome Valenti and her twin brother, Jack “Salvatore” Valenti; and by a grandson, Richard J. Kostoff Jr.; She is survived by her loving children, Richard J. (Marie) Kostoff Sr. of Climax Springs, MO, Nicholas A. (Dana) Kostoff of Lipan, TX and Janet E. (Wes) Self of Collinsville, IL; five grandchildren, Matthew Chandler, Michelle Chandler, Jacob Johnson, Dawn Kostoff and Jason Kostoff; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; beloved Shih Tzu, Sophia; extended family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL.

In celebration of her life, funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 16, 2018 at Irwin Chapel, Glen Carbon, IL. Katie will be laid to rest next to Nicholas at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of the donors choice.
