Mrs. Cynthia Denise Wayne Daye September 23, 1960 – January 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card BURLINGTON- Mrs. Cynthia Denise Daye, 58, of 1040 Elwood Street, was the loving daughter of Mary Jones Fryer and wife of Johnny Daye. She was born September 23, 1960 in Lynchburg, Virginia. She left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at her residence.

Cynthia relocated to East Orange, New Jersey. While there, she was educated in the New Jersey public schools. She became a member of The Messiah Baptist Church of East Orange, New Jersey.

Cynthia was very active there, and she was on the Youth Choir until she moved to North Carolina. She became a member of Martin’s Chapel Baptist Church where she sang on the Gospel Choir. Cynthia loved children and to play bingo.

She had a beautiful voice. She entered a singing contest and won first place prize, which was a tape recording in Tennessee. Cynthia was preceded in death by a grandchild, Mylasia Nakaya Ramsey Wayne; an uncle, John Jones (Marie) of Union, NJ; two special friends, Leroy Minatee, III, and Melvin Hardy.

She leaves in God’s righteous care her devoted husband, Johnny Daye of the home; mother, Mary Jones Fryer of Burlington; two sons, Leroy “Charlie” Minatee and Lawrence “Tim” Wayne, both of Burlington; two daughters, Fallon Wayne and Felicia Wayne, both of Burlington; stepdaughter, Rena Herbin of Graham; twelve grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 12:00 pm at Martin’s Chapel Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Jarrell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church and all other times, at their home. Cynthia’s public viewing will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2019 from 1-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
