Thomas Henry Lindsay August 28, 1933 – January 01, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Thomas Henry Lindsay, 85, departed this life on January 1, 2019, at Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro N.C. He was born on August 28th, 1933 in Whitsett N.C. to the late Marshall Lindsay and Ruth Foust Lindsay. Thomas as he was affectionately known as “Big T”, gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Wadsworth Congregational Church.

Thomas was married to the late Mallie Shaw Lindsay for 56 years. He worked at South Atlantic Warehouse as a truck driver for 62 years. Thomas was God’s gift to all.

He later moved his membership to Zion Apostolic Church were he became a Deacon and taught Sunday School. After retirement, he continued to work with South Atlantic, He loved fishing playing horse shoes, and baseball. His favorite team was the North Carolina Tarheels.

First and foremost he loved his family! He was friendly and kind and never met a stranger. He loved talking about the Lord at “Reedy Fork Diner” his favorite eating place.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, two sisters and three brothers. Left to cherish his memory and to carry on his legacy; two step-daughters: Dianne W. Pettiford (Garson) of Greensboro NC, Delilah Woods of Glen Raven NC, Five Children: Dinah Patsy Marshall of Greensboro N.C., Kenneth E. Lindsay (Ruth) of Gibsonville N.C., Elder Sylvia L. Cater (Henry) of Greensboro N.C., Timothy Lindsay (Richetta) of Reidsville N.C., and Bridget M. Lindsay (Special Friend) of Burlington N.C., 17 grand-children, 32 great grand-children, 27 great great grand-children; one brother: Robert Lindsay (Geraldine) of Whitsett; five sisters: Joyce Breeze (Willie) of Whitsett, Jean Bryan of Brown Summit, Alice Lindsay, Dorothy Lindsay and Christine McCain all of Greensboro and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
