Obituary for Delano “Danny” Eugene Jennelle Delano “Danny” Eugene Jennelle, age 78, of Richlands, VA passed away on Friday, July 13, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. Danny was born in Raleigh County, WV and moved to Jewell Ridge when he was 6 years old. He was the son of the late Chapman E. “Gene” and Naomi Ethel Hylton Jennelle.

He was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1958. He retired from the safety department of Pittston Coal Company and worked for Joy Manufacturing as a fabricator. He loved to fish and was a member of the Tazewell County Sportsman Club.

He was passionate about football, he was a great player having played under Coach Ernie Hicks; and he loved Virginia Tech Football. He was a member of the Richlands Tabernacle Church; a member of the Richlands Masonic Lodge #318 AM and FM; a member of Illinois Army National Guard. Danny’s greatest accomplishment was accepting Jesus Christ as his Savior.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Meadows. He is survived by: His Loving Wife, Patricia Horton Jennelle Sons: Dale Keene and wife, Marsha of Richlands, VA Richard Keene and wife, Kathleen of Claypool Hill, VA Sisters: Margaret Vandyke and husband, Burton of Buchanan County, VA Charlotte Jennelle of Russellsville, TN Lois Flanary and husband, Kenneth of TN Brother: William Leroy Jennelle of Richlands, VA Sister-in-Law: Gail Meadows of Swansboro, NC Also surviving are four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. M. J. Thakkar and Dr. Ernest Henry.

Funeral services for Delano “Danny” Eugene Jennelle will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Richlands Tabernacle Church in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Phillip Horton, Rev. Dale Keene, Rev.

Nick Keene, and Richard Keene officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be: Paul McGraw, Larry Ratcliff, and Larry Ratliff; and friends and family.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Vernon Lowe, Jack Nipper, Tad Meadows, Burton Vandyke, Don Horton, Jim Jackson, and Tim Ray. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Sunday evening at the church.
