Obituary for Ervin Lawson Blankenship Ervin Lawson Blankenship, age 73, of Tazewell, Virginia passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, Virginia. Ervin was born in Pounding Mill, Virginia and was the son of the late Granville E. and Verdie Jane Baldwin Blankenship. He was a graduate of Tazewell High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam war.

He was a former truck driver and was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ella Mae Webb; and three brothers, Don, Jimmy, and Danny Blankenship. He is survived by: Daughters: Kari Smith and husband, Samuel of Richlands, Virginia Holly Reynolds and husband, Bobby of Roanoke, Virginia Son, Timothy Bowman and wife, Jessica of West Virginia Brother, Ronnie Blankenship of West Virginia Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive along with a host of family and friends.

Graveside services for Ervin Lawson Blankenship will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 am at the Hankins Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Interment will follow. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Members of the VFW Casey-Shortt Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites.
