Dennis Ray Ratliff, 84, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born March 3, 1934 in Arkansas, a son of the late Robie A. and Loudie (Boyer) Ratliff. He retired from Hussmann Refrigeration after 45 years of dedicated service as a quality inspector.

The United States Army veteran was a member of Word of Life Tabernacle in Granite City. Dennis enjoyed his days of waterskiing, camping, fishing and playing softball. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Michael Licavoli of Granite City; a son, Allen Dowdy of Barnett, Missouri; two grandchildren, Aaron Christopher and Michael Dowdy; four great grandchildren, Peyton Ross, Alyssa Ross, Dakota Armour and Olivia Armour; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Dowdy; a granddaughter, Jamie (Christopher) Ross; two sisters, Olean and Jeraldeen Ratliff and two brothers, James and Eugene Ratliff. In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. with Reverend Henry Crippen officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
