Dolores “June” Foster Jones, age 82, of Rogersville, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Clifton Jones; parents, Rod and Sarah Isabelle Lawson Foster; brothers, Ronald and wife Sylvia Jean Foster, Dennis and wife Joyce Foster, and Rod Foster; sister-in-law, Elva and John Lipe; grandson-in-law, Chris Bloomer. June loved to sing and was saved in Dallas, TX and joined New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deacon’s wife.

She sang soprano, solos, led the choir, and was part of the New Salem Church Quartet, and taught Sunday school. She was well known for her young years as a basketball star and received a scholarship in Nashville. She became a homemaker, expert seamstress, baker, and was a carpenter’s assistant.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia and husband Tom Parham III, Mary and husband David Ferrell, and Dr. Carol Jones; son, John Jones; grandchildren, David Elliott Ferrell, Angela and husband Chad Foshie, Suzie Ferrell Bloomer, and Lauren Jones; great grandchildren, Spencer Bloomer, Addi Ferrell, and Arabella and Ava Foshie; sisters, Nina and husband Walter Stull, Sarah Doris and Randall Dingus; brothers, Larry and wife Mickie Foster, and Lonnie and wife Linda Foster; brother-in-law, Ralph and wife Florence Jones; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to all family and friends for their support and kindness during this difficult time. In addition, hugs and kisses to Callie and Christy of Amedisys Hospice, for their very gentle and kind manners toward Mommy and her family.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Monday, March 11, 2019, at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Norman Sauceman officiating.

The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 12, 2019, in New Salem Church Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www. christiansells.com.
