Worton, age 82, of Yale, MI passed away January 9, 2019 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 4, 1936 in Yale, MI to the late William and Sybil (Metcalf) Quinlan. Donna married James Worton October 29, 1955 in Peck, MI.
He preceded her in death on August 20, 1994. She had a fiery personality and could often be found at a casino or bingo hall and at church every Sunday. She was always the first to lend a hand to anyone in need and could always be counted on for an honest word.
Donna was no stranger to hard work. Along with her husband, they owned and operated the Yale A&W for 20 years. She later worked as a real estate agent and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
After retirement, she enjoyed spending winters in Zephyrhills, FL, playing cards, golfing, bowling and sharing laughs with family and friends. She is survived by her five children, James (Louanne) Worton of Yale, Katherine (Richard) Brennan of Emmett, Steven (Christine) Worton of Chesterfield Twp, Martin (Tanzylee) Worton of Yale and Sybil Worton-Bade of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and two on the way; sister, Catherine Carter of Peck; three sisters-in-law, Judith (Jack) Wilbert of New York, Barbara “Babs” (Jim) Ruggles of Yale and Janet Foster of Lexington; many nieces, nephews and close friends. Donna was preceded in death by an infant great grandson, Kendon; six brothers, William, Robert, Donald, Thomas, Peter (Leona) and Harold “Pat” (Elizabeth) Quinlan; six sisters, Mary (Alger) Gracey, Helen (Oral) Dane, Beatrice (Jarold) Clark, Anastasia Beals, Inez Smith-Knight and Margaret (Lewis) Wells; her father and mother-in-law, David and Barbara Worton; two brothers-in-law, David (Jan) Worton and Robert Carter; and several nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive visitors from 9-11 AM on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, A Memorial Mass will be held 11 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 10828 Brandon Rd.
Emmette, MI 48022. Father H. Thomas Kuehnemund officiating. A private family burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
