Donna M. Wright, 74, of Gloucester, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, November 9, 2018 at her residence. She was born in Jersey Shore, PA on June 16, 1944, daughter of the late Melvin H. and Elizabeth J. (Hostrander) Ergott. Donna was a graduate of Jersey Shore Area Senior High School and also from North Shore Community College in 1983, receiving her Associates Degree in Computer Science.
She worked many years as an accountant for several oil companies, including Gulf Oil and Gibbs Oil in Chelsea. Donna enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her Magnolia friends at the Patio playing cribbage. If you were looking for Donna, you would probably find her at any craft store or fair selling her homemade creations.
She was a very talented knitter, knitting pretty unusual things like raincoats, bracelets and handbags of plastic bags. She also made diaper cakes out of pampers and filled the inside with everything a baby would need. People just loved them.
She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and was affectionately known as “Gigi”. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by 2 sons, Charles “Chuck” Townsend Jr. and his wife Deborah of Gloucester, Thomas Wright and his wife Michelle of Beverly; daughter, Bonnie Tarr and her husband Brian of Gloucester; grandchildren, Heather LaCroix and her husband Nick of Manchester, NH, Kristina Jacobs and her husband Matthew of Es, Shaina Bingle and her husband J.B. of Gloucester, Chyanne Stowell of Gloucester, Arielle Wright of Oakland, CA, Samantha Wright of Danvers and Skyla Wright of Beverly; great-grandchildren, Harper LaCroix, Matthew Jacobs Jr., Violet and Rose Bingle; sisters, Tina Sloane, Crystal Ergott and Lori Ergott all of Maryland; brother, Ronald Ergott and his wife Mary of Maryland; her best friends who were there for her, Linda and Richard Loud and Chuck and Sheila Salah; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Patricia Brown, Sandy Scherch and Sherry Carpenter; brothers, Scotti and Marvin Ergott and her niece, Stacey Atwater. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visiting hours and the burial will be held privately. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Castle Manor, 141 Es Avenue, Gloucester.
