Doris’ Obituary Gallupville (Schoharie County): Doris E. Skinner 79, of St. Rte#443 Gallupville, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday January 24th in the comfort of her home. Mrs. Skinner was born February 20, 1939 in Schoharie, a daughter of Cecil Miles and Erma Henrietta (Lawyer) Diamond. She graduated from Schoharie High School, class of 1957 and later married Howard M. “Skip” Skinner on November 23, 1957.

Doris was very active in her children’s lives growing up, as a 4-H Leader, active in Sports Booster Club and sewing clothes for them. She was also a member of the Gallupville Fire Department Auxiliary and the Gallupville and Berne Senior Citizens. She also enjoyed gardening, cross-stitch, collecting hummingbirds, bird watching and playing cards with other couples in the area.

Survivors include her children; Terri-Ann (Charles) Jeffrey of Gallupville, Shawn (Patty) Skinner of Berne, and Kathleen (Mark) Jaqueway of Schoharie, 5 grandchildren; Samantha, Shari, and Josh Skinner, Kristin Jeffrey and Jessica Jaqueway, 5 great-grandchildren; Emma, Alexandra, Ava, Quinn and Nolan, her siblings; Barbara (Larry) Sharpe, of Sloansville, James (Edie) Diamond of Esperance, Geraldine Johnston (Bob Allison) of Central Bridge and Mike (Deb) Diamond of Schoharie along with several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by her husband Skip on April 6, 2016 and her sister Jane (Dave) Potts. Calling hours will be held from 3-6 PM on Monday, January 28th at the Langan Funeral Home, 327 Main Street Schoharie followed by a funeral service at 6 with Pastor James Wolford officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in the Gallupville Rural Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Skinner to the Wright Friendly Seniors (Gallupville Senior Citizens), C/O Ruth Snyder, 259 Goodfellow Rd. , Westerlo, NY 12193, OR the Hilltown Seniors (Berne Seniors), PO Box 43, Berne, NY 12023.
