Dorothy Jean Hartley January 19, 1931 – February 23, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Lifelong Lakefield resident, Dorothy Jean Hartley, 88, died Saturday morning February 23, 2019 at her home. Born January 19, 1931 in Lakefield, daughter of John D. and Effie Elaine (Rall) Teed, she attended Marks school and received a degree in nursing from Bay De Noc Community College. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Newberry Regional Mental Health Center until her retirement.

In her younger days, she could often be found tending her flower gardens. She also enjoyed quilting and was an avid reader. She was a member of Curtis Baptist Church.

She was proceeded in death by her parents John and Effie Teed; husband Robert Hartley; son Richard Fuller; brothers Stephen Teed and John Teed, brother’s in-law Gordon Kalnbach and Charles Dunn, sister-in-law Nancy Teed and step-daughter Nora Gage. Survivors include four children Elaine (Dennis) Alberts of Curtis, Ronald Fuller of Boyne City, Linda Fuller of Lakefield and David Fuller of Lakefield; step-daughter Carol Hartley of St. Ignace; step-son Michael Hartley of Texas; siblings Opal Kalnbach of Lakefield, Guy (Imogene) Teed of Avon IN, Thomas (Ruth) Teed of McMillan, Alan Teed of Denver, CO, Ellen Dunn of Perrinton, Ruth (Frank) Finch of Ft. Meyers, FL, Lois-Teed (David) Gillen of Grand Rapids and Timothy (Pilar) Teed of Lakefield; sister-in-law Sue Teed of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter-in-law Regina Fuller of Grand Rapids; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a couple of great-great-grandsons.

Friends may call at the Curtis Baptist Church on Thursday February 28, 2019 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Funeral services will follow at the church at 11:00 am with Pastor Ray White officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at the West Lakefield Township Cemetery.
