Obituary for Earl Jarvis Parish Earl Jarvis Parish of Hattiesburg, born January 31,1936 in Laurel, MS, passed away peacefully September 11, 2018 after a long-fought battle with Lewy Body Dementia and is now rejoicing at the feet of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Earl Jarvis was retired from the Hercules Corp. , where he was affectionately known as “Wore Out” by all who worked there.

After retiring from Hercules, he owned and operated Roto Rooter in Hattiesburg until he retired. Earl loved being outdoors, fishing, woodworking, traveling with his wife and friends, and most of all spending time with his granddaughters. Earl is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Johnnie Floyd Parish, his two children, Gregory Earl Parish (Joy) and Sonya Parish Sanderson, four granddaughters, Faith Nicole Parish, Anna Marie Parish, Amy Elizabeth Sanderson, Natalie Kendall Sanderson, one great granddaughter, Hadlee Claire Wand, and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by the numerous caregivers who lovingly helped Johnnie care for his needs through his final years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Alice and Jasper Parish, his brothers, Carl Parish and Jasper Parish Jr. (Martha Ann), and his sisters Gladys Parker (Clifton), Wilma Overstreet, and Evelyn Parrish (Jimmy Ray). Services will be held on Friday, September 14th at Memory Chapel with visitation beginning at 2 p.m. and the service following at 3:30 p.m. Rev.

Donny Parrish will officiate. His nephews will serve as his pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Canopy Children’s Services (formerly Mississippi Children’s Home Services) or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
