Obituary for Norma Elaine Campbell Rice Norma Elaine Campbell Rice passed away peacefully August 30, 2018 at Jasper County Nursing Home in Bay Springs, MS. She was born in Shongaloo, LA. She lived 92 years.

She lived 64 of those years in Sarepta, LA. She delivered the U. S. Mail for 23 years where she made many cherished friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sarepta for many years and was currently a member of Moss Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Colbert M. and Norma W. Campbell; also, by her first husband and father of her children, Lendon B. Rice; her second husband, Gordon W. Goodson; and her siblings, Collie Campbell (Nell), Lee Campbell (Ozzie), Jimmie Ray Campbell, Purnis Campbell (Ora), and Mutelle Carraway (Barney). She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Carol Rice (Ann), Bobby Randall Rice (Mary), Kevin Colbert Rice (Sylvia) and daughter, Lynda E. Rice Stringer (Ben); grandchildren, Lyndi Baker (Fredie), Bethen Hand, Jennifer Harmon (Dennis), Sarah Rice, Georgina Rice, Kimberly Rice, Devina Franco, Becky Myrick (Eli), Sheryl Sheppard, and Todd Stringer; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Cody Baker, Sydney Franco St. Amant, Michael Reeves (Kim), Nathan Stringer (Brittney), Daniel Schmitt, and Trevor Stringer; and great great grandchildren, Shawn Michael Reeves and Ren John Stringer.

She had many nieces and nephews to cherish her memory, including a special nephew, Bobby Lewis (Neva). We want to thank the Jasper County Nursing Home for their great care especially Becky Ulmer, Amanda Hazelton, Hollie Martin, and Ms. Nancy Single, also Memory Chapel for the courtesy they extended to our family. Services will be held at Memory Chapel on Sunday, September 2nd.

Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the funeral will be at 3 p.m. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery. Pastor Tony Johnson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Todd Stringer, Daniel Schmitt, Dennis Harmon, Michael Reeves, Fredie Baker, and Nathan Stringer.
