Earl’s Obituary Earl M. Messinger, 95, of Mt. Bethel, PA passed away Sunday, February 24th, at St. Luke’s Hospice House, Bethlehem, PA. Earl was born in Bethlehem, PA on July 10, 1923, a son of the late Earl E. and Florence (Werkheiser) Messinger.

He was the husband of the late Pauline (Weidman) Messinger, who passed away in 2002, and his second wife the late, Shirley (Hess) Messinger, who passed away in 2018. Earl was employed as an expeditor for Ingersoll-Rand in Phillipsburg & Piscataway, NJ. until retiring.

He was a graduate of Bangor High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Earl was an avid Penn State sports fan.

He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Stone Church, PA. Earl was also a member of the Portland – Mt. Bethel Memorial American Legion Post 216, and a former secretary for the Reformed Cemetery Assoc.

Earl is survived by a daughter, Rory Messinger, a stepdaughter, Janice Bunnell, a sister, Beatrice Daniel, step-granddaughter, Tammy Fish; and 2 step great-grandchildren, Austin & Angela, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son David Messinger, and 4 sisters; Vivian Frutchey, Elsie Houck, Arlene Messinger, & Gladys Flory.

Services are private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. ” Village of Johnsonville”, Bangor, PA.
