Obituary for Edward J. Machnik, Jr. Edward J. Machnik, Jr., 61, passed away peacefully at home in Dennisport on Friday, July 6, 2018. Born December 5, 1956, son of the late Edward J. Sr. and Genevieve “Pat” (Wajda) Machnik, he was a lifelong Chicopee resident, along with spending summers at Cape Cod. Edward was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School, and continued his education, earning a Bachelors Degree from American International College.

A communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Edward was looking forward to retirement after spending many years as a sales representative for a plumbing supplier. He was an avid Red Sox fan and greatly enjoyed fishing with his buddies. Edward is survived by his loving sister, Judith M. Hogan of West Springfield; niece Stephanie and nephew Patrick; his lifelong companion, Pam Rousseau; and many cousins and good friends.

He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Patrick Hogan. Funeral services for Edward will be held Saturday at 8:30AM from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 56 St. Anthony St., Chicopee. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Calling hours are Friday from 5-7PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Special Olympics, 898 Prospect St., Chicopee, MA 01020. Today’s Events Visitation 2018 JUL 13.
