Obituary for Elaine R. Curtin Elaine R. Curtin, a longtime resident of Beacon, passed away peacefully at her home on March 8, 2018. She was 58 years old. Elaine was born on April 28, 1959 in Schenectady, New York the daughter of the late Edward and Natalie Barbara Hakey.

Elaine was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Elaine married Christopher Curtin on March 31, 1986. Chris survives at home.

Elaine worked at the Veterans Administration at Castle Point for over thirty years before retiring due to her health. She was an animal lover and animal rescuer. In addition to her husband, Elaine is survived by her brother, Eddie Hakey and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), PO Box 1129, Beacon, New York 12508 or to the VA Hudson Valley Health Care System, Homeless Veterans Program. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Patrick J. Halvey of Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, LLC.
