Obituary for Fred W. Way Fred W. Way, a lifelong resident of Beacon, passed away on September 20, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. He was 69. Fred was born on September 27, 1948 the son of the late Fredrick J. Way and Shirley Cable Way of Monroe, North Carolina.

He married the former Mary Bunt on April 1, 1967. Mrs. Way survives at home. Fred worked for Three Star Anodizing and Unico in Beacon before his retirement.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and loved to be with his family. He was an excellent athlete and played in several local softball leagues, horseshoe leagues at the Glenham Fire House and was an accomplished ski jumper. He was also a member of the Dutchess Boat Club.

Fred also was an avid deer hunter. Those who knew Fred appreciated his great sense of humor. In addition to his wife and mother, Fred is survived by his daughter, Mary Way; his grandchildren, Kenneth Way, Kayla Way and Kathleen Scott and husband, Kenneth; his great grandchildren, Breanna, Vincent and Niklaus; his brother, Wayne Way; his uncle, Dennis Cable and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 25 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Beacon.
