On September 27, 2018, Elands Hundley Parker, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 83. Elands was born on March 1, 1935 in Bassett, Virginia to Clyde and Louise. Her best days were spent in the Martinsville, Virginia area, where she worked at Tultex Knitting Corporation for 40 years, enjoyed friends in her TOPS group and took pleasure in hobbies such as crocheting beautiful blankets, sewing elegant decor items for the home and spending time with family.

She was the proud… Read More » mother of Nancy and grandmother of Carol and Leslie. Elands always had a passion for sewing and crocheting. She always insisted, “Anything worth doing, was worth doing right!

” Her creations were much admired and enjoyed by friends and family alike. She was an avid volunteer for the Red Cross, spending countless hours assisting the staff of Martinsville Memorial Hospital. Her greatest love was her family.

She was utterly devoted to ensuring that everyone was accounted for, safe and “alright” as she liked to put it. Elands was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Louise Hundley. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Ashwell of Charlotte, North Carolina; and her grandchildren, Carol Eanes Bower (Tracy) and Leslie Eanes Adelman (Victor), both of Charlotte, NC.

She also leaves behind four great grandchildren: Matthew, William, Alexis and Ian, all of Charlotte, NC and her sister, Inez Witt (Travis) of Bassett, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Norris Funeral Services, Martinsville Chapel located at 1500 Kings Mountain Road, Martinsville, VA 24112. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Interment will follow in the family cemetery at County Line Church of God in Patrick Springs, Virginia. Norris Funeral Services, Inc. and Crematory of Martinsville, VA is serving the Parker family. Online condolences can be made at www.
