Roger James Urban, 71, of Amherst, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in New Jersey, December 24, 1946, Roger was the son of the late Edward and Marge Urban. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran of Viet Nam, retired Airline Pilot and a member of Clifford Baptist Church.

Roger loved classic cars and enjoyed car shows. He was an avid reader, and quite an expert on military and Wild West history. He also loved Westerns on film and TV.

Surviving are his wife, Lucinda of Amherst, daughter, Stacey Stinnett (Jason); son, Jeremy Burley (Heather) all of Amherst; and grandchildren: Trevor Godsey, Colton Stinnett, Collin Stinnett, Annalyn Burley and Ryland Burley. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Clifford Baptist Church with Rev.

Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in Amherst Cemetery with Military Honors by American Legion Post #16. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Wednesday at the church.
